Spray records

A spray diary that keeps up with the work

Trees n Bees keeps spray records for small orchards and market gardens. Record a spray against a tree, a block or the whole orchard with the product, rate, target and who sprayed it. The wind and temperature fill in from your property's weather, and the trees show when they can be picked and entered again.

Finishing a spray job: the spray diary with start time 6:45 am, sprayed by Sam, target brown rot, 300 litres of spray mix, a 7-day withholding period, a 48-hour re-entry interval, wind 6 km/h from the north-west and 13 °C
The spray diary, filled in when a spray job is ticked done.

What a spray record keeps

  • The date and start time, the product, the rate and the volume of spray mix.
  • The target: the pest, disease or weed you were after.
  • Who sprayed it, picked from the people on the property.
  • The withholding period and re-entry interval, typed from the product label.
  • Wind speed and direction and the temperature at the time, and any notes.

The weather, filled in

Tap "Fill in from the weather" and the wind and temperature for the hour you sprayed come from the property's hourly weather (Open-Meteo), with no weather station needed. If your own reading differs, change it.

When the trees can be picked and entered

The tree, block and orchard pages show each spray that still holds them: "Don't pick before" the end of the withholding period, and "Keep out until" the end of the re-entry interval. One notice per spray, however many trees it covered.

When a harvest is recorded on a date that a withholding period still covers, the harvest form says so before it's saved.

A good morning to spray

Turn on the spray window alert and Trees n Bees checks tomorrow's forecast for the property. The evening before, your phone gets an alert when there are 2 hours or more between 5 am and 7 pm with wind between your limits (3 to 15 km/h unless you change it), no hotter than 30 °C, and no rain for 6 hours after.

One spray, many trees

Record a spray once for a row, a block, the whole orchard or the trees you pick, with bulk logging. Or give the spray to someone as a job: when they tick it done, the spray goes into the work log with the details they fill in. More on jobs for your team →

Records you can hand over

The work log exports to a spreadsheet with every spray's details and who recorded it, ready to sort, print or send.

Trees n Bees helps you keep the records. Check what your buyers, any quality assurance scheme and your state ask you to record, and always follow the product label.

Who it suits

Small orchards and market gardens that spray a few times a season and need to know what went on, when, and when the fruit can be picked, without a paper diary in the ute that nobody else can read.

Recording a spray

  1. Open the tree, block or orchard, or Bulk log for a row or picked trees, and add a work log of type spray.
  2. Enter the product, rate and target, and the withholding period and re-entry interval from the label.
  3. Tap "Fill in from the weather" for the wind and temperature, or type your own.
  4. Save it. The trees show when they can be picked and entered again.
A block page on a phone: a copper oxychloride spray says don't pick before 14 October and keep out until 9 October, 6:30 am
The block shows when it can be picked and entered again.
