Payments, cancelling and refunds
Last updated 6 October 2026.
The short version
- The Backyard plan is free and needs no card.
- Paid plans are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, in Australian dollars.
- You can cancel at any time. Your paid plan keeps going until the end of the period you've paid for.
- New to a paid plan and not happy? Ask within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund.
- Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply, whatever this page says.
Paying
Prices are shown on the pricing page. Paid plans renew automatically at the start of each month or year until you cancel. Choose a plan in My settings in the app. Paid plans are sold through Stripe, which acts as the reseller (merchant of record): it takes the payment and works out any GST or other sales tax for where you live. Your card statement shows the charge as LINK.COM* TREESNBEES (Link is Stripe's payment service). Prices on the pricing page include GST for Australian customers. We never see or store your full card number. Your receipt is emailed to you after each payment, and past receipts are in Manage billing in My settings.
Changing plan
- Moving up (Homestead to Market Garden, or monthly to yearly) starts straight away. You're charged the difference for the rest of the current period, less what's unused on your old plan.
- Moving down (Market Garden to Homestead, or yearly to monthly) starts at the end of the period you've paid for. You keep the bigger plan until then.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in My settings, or by emailing hello@treesnbees.app. You won't be charged again, and your property keeps its paid plan until the end of the period you've paid for. After that it moves to the Backyard plan:
- Your records stay, and you can keep using them.
- Photos and voice memos already backed up stay in the cloud. New ones are kept on the device that took them.
- You can't add more people, orchards or properties than Backyard allows, but nothing you already have is removed.
Refunds
- Change of mind on a new plan: if you're not happy within 7 days of your first payment for a paid plan, email us and we'll refund that payment in full.
- After that: we don't refund part of a month or year when you cancel or move to a cheaper plan, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires it (see below).
- Charged by mistake: if you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or charged the wrong amount, we'll refund the difference.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days of us approving them.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us, and to a refund for the unused portion or to compensation for its reduced value. If a failure with the service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure fixed in a reasonable time. If this is not done, you are entitled to cancel the contract and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the service.
Nothing on this page limits those rights. To find out more, see the ACCC's guide to consumer rights.
Price changes
If we change the price of your plan, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies. The new price starts from your next billing period after that, and you can cancel before then.
Asking for a refund or raising a problem
Email hello@treesnbees.app from the address you sign in with, and tell us what happened. We'll reply within 5 business days. If we can't sort it out together, you can contact your state or territory consumer protection agency.
