Hive records
Hive records for small apiaries
Trees n Bees keeps a hive register and quick inspection records for backyard and small-scale beekeepers, in the same logbook as the orchard the bees work. Inspections take a few taps with big buttons for gloved hands, and the records collect into a logbook you can print.

A register of every hive
Each hive has a name and an apiary, and the apiary sits on your farm map with its hives around it.
Quick inspections
- Colony strength, brood frames and temperament.
- Pests and diseases seen, and mite checks (sugar shake, alcohol wash or drone uncapping).
- An optional photo and notes.
Bee records and a printable logbook
Movements, AFB tests, bees, queens or used equipment brought in, training and honey harvests are kept as bee records. The logbook page groups them with your inspections, ready to print or save as a PDF, and each section downloads as a spreadsheet.
Trees n Bees helps you keep the records. Check what your state asks of registered beekeepers.
Reminders
The app shows when a hive's inspection is due or overdue, and can send alerts to your phone for inspections and for renewing your beekeeper registration.
Who it suits
Backyard and hobby beekeepers with a handful of hives, and growers who keep bees for their own orchard. The hive records sit beside the orchard's bloom dates and harvests, so the bees and the trees are in one logbook rather than two.
An inspection, step by step
- Open the hive and tap + Inspection.
- Choose the colony's strength, the brood frames checked, and whether you saw the queen and eggs.
- Tick any pests or diseases seen, and the mite check if you did one.
- Add a photo or a note if you like, then save. The hive's next inspection date updates from there.
